Place versus Space

Article-page-main-ehow-images-a07-8a-3r-rearrange-classroom-limited-space-800x800

The dictionary definitions of each term follow.

space • a continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied

place • a portion of space occupied by someone

“Place” – encompassing the people (and their philosophies) and the relationships between people and space, and among people, and between things in the space – seems a much more accurate term to consider than “space.”
